Adele Ohki is an Australian-born professional violinist, music educator and arts leader based in Sydney. Recognised for her dynamic performing career and deep commitment to music education, she has established herself as a versatile artist across orchestral, chamber and solo performance in Australia, Europe and the United States.

Adele studied violin with Charles Castleman at the Eastman School of Music and holds postgraduate degrees in modern and baroque violin performance from Northwestern University and Boston University. She was a soloist at the Australian National Academy of Music in Melbourne and has performed with ensembles including the Australian Opera Orchestra, Australian Haydn Ensemble, the Omega Ensemble, the National Symphony Orchestra in Sweden, and the Boston Opera and Ballet orchestras. She also maintains an active freelance career as a chamber musician and orchestral performer throughout Australia.

Alongside performing, Adele is a highly respected educator with extensive experience leading string programs and mentoring young musicians. She has held senior teaching and leadership roles at leading schools in Sydney and is known for combining high artistic standards with warmth, clarity and a strong commitment to collaborative music-making.

Adele is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Sydney Chamber Music Institute, an initiative dedicated to nurturing the next generation of chamber musicians through artist-led mentorship, ensemble training and innovative performance experiences. Created in response to a gap in Australia’s chamber music landscape, the Institute aims to connect exceptional young musicians with leading professional artists in a vibrant and inspiring artistic community.

Through performance, teaching and artistic leadership, Adele is passionate about creating meaningful musical experiences that foster excellence, curiosity and connection across generations.
