Bridget Bolliger is an internationally acclaimed flautist, chamber musician, educator, and artistic director. Born in Australia, she also holds Swiss nationality and spent a significant part of her life in Switzerland—a country that has profoundly shaped her identity. She trained at the Basel Music Academy under Peter-Lukas Graf and has performed as soloist and principal flautist with major orchestras across Europe, South America, and Australia, including Philharmonia Zürich, Zürich Chamber Orchestra, St. Gallen Symphony, São Paulo Symphony, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Queensland Symphony, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
She founded and directed the New Sydney Wind Quintet, Australia's leading wind ensemble for over a decade. Since 2008, she has been Artistic Director of the Sydney Chamber Music Festival, curating bold, cross-disciplinary programs and premiering new Australian works.
Bridget's chamber music partners include Andrew West and her brother Philip Bolliger, with whom she has explored contemporary, multimedia, and classical repertoire. She has also performed with Piers Lane, Vladimir Gorbach, Umberto Clerici, and the Goldner String Quartet.
Her acclaimed recordings on Cala Records and Austrian Gramophone are available on major streaming platforms.
A passionate educator, she mentors gifted students and tutors for the Australian and Sydney Youth Orchestras. Her teaching is grounded in three essentials: Breath, Support, Airflow. She is the creator of MEFCs and is writing How to Bake Flute with Three Essential Ingredients, supported by an AETT scholarship.
