Bass Trombone
Darrin’s multiple premieres of bass trombone concertos with orchestras, bands and unaccompanied solos dedicated to him are a major part of his career. Milling has been featured with DePaul Chamber Orchestra (USA), Chamber Orchestra of Chile, Goias Philharmonic Orchestra (Brazil), National Theatre Orchestra (Brazil), Greater Miami Youth Symphony (USA), Espirito Santo State Symphony (Brazil), Thailand Brass and Percussion Band (Thailand) and McGill Wind Symphony (Canada), to name a few.
An artist of Edwards Instrument Company since 1991, he’s a graduate of The Curtis Institute of Music, a founding member of Posaune Decuple with trombone legends Blair Bollinger and Joseph Alessi, co-founded Allied Chamber Duo in Southeast Asia with chinese-malaysian pianist Iau Jo Yee, and established Low Brass Project Chamber Ensemble with local tuba legend Edwin J. Diefes.
He has performed as a guest musician with The Philadelphia Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Tenerife Symphony Orchestra (Spain), Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra (Israel), National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador and São Paulo Municipal Symphony Orchestra (Brazil).
Currently, Darrin is a member of the Artistic Advisory Board of Luzerne Music Center (USA) and, in 2014, received the ‘Cultural Merit Award’ and distinguished title of 'Comendador' from The Carlos Gomes Brazilian Society of Arts, Culture and Education.
