Winston Churchill Fellow Grace Kim is a concert pianist, artistic director, and educator, known equally for her refined artistry and passionate advocacy for accessible music. She has performed as concerto soloist with leading orchestras across Australasia and Europe, in esteemed venues and for distinguished audiences, including Her Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and the Australian Governor General.
A prize-winner at the Bellini and Città di Marsala International Piano Competitions and National Keyboard Winner of the 2000 Symphony Australia Young Performers Award, Grace also received the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Trust. She holds Master of Music degrees from the University of Melbourne and Rotterdam Conservatorium (Cum Laude), and was the Inaugural Fellow of the Australian National Academy of Music.
Now based in Sydney after eight years in the Netherlands, Grace is Founder and Creative Director of Sensory Concerts®, an acclaimed national initiative providing high-quality live music experiences for neurodivergent audiences. Her research into the calming effects of music for children with sensory sensitivities is published in The Arts in Psychotherapy.
Grace is a sessional academic and piano teacher in the Rising Stars Program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she also tutors in Psychology of Music and lectures in Psychology of Learning and Instruction. She is currently completing PhD research and has been appointed a Postgraduate Fellow at the Conservatorium.
